Stop Slicing Now With These Easy Slice Cures

Golf Slice Instruction

In order to stop slicing, you must learn to have more of an in to out correct golf swing path. Slicing is the most common swing fault I hear golfers complain about. A slice golf swing can come from several setup and swing problems.

The reason the golf ball slices when you hit it is because the club approaches the ball from outside the correct swing path. This leads to the club hitting the ball from an out to in path which results in a slice spin being put on the golf ball.

Three Tips For A Golf Slice Fix:

#1) Keep your back to the target longer on your downswing. A golf slice usually occurs when the upper body has spun out or opened up too early in the downswing. By focusing on keeping your backswing to the target longer on your downswing, you will allow you arms to swing down so the club approaches the ball from more of an inside path. This will help to striaghten out your shots.

#2) Keep your shoulders square at impact. This goes hand in hand with the last tip. If you keep your back to the target longer on your downswing, you will be able to square up your shoulders more correctly at impact. This will allow you to hit the ball with more power and eliminate unwanted spin on the golf ball which will stop your slice.

#3) Keep your swing tempo smooth. Many golfers who have a slice undoubtably rush their golf swings. You must learn to slow your swing down so that the tempo remains constant the entire swing. A fast backswing will often lead to decelerating on your downswing and when coming into impact. You want your swing to be the fastest as it is hitting the golf ball. This will happen naturally if you swing smooth on your backswing and keep you tempo constant. The club will then be able to swing through the golf ball with the most speed and power at impact which will tend to eliminate erractic ball flights including the dreaded golf slice.
