Swing Fault: Golf Swing Too Inside

Swinging the golf club too inside is a problem that can lead to severe swing problems and cut down your distance. Some beginner golfers take the club back too inside which in my opinion is the death move. A slightly inside clubhead can lead to a right to left shot pattern, but too much inside is definitely not good. Here is a picture of the takeaway for a golf swing too inside:

Learn To Take The Club Back On The Proper Plane

When your arms, hands, and shoulders all work together properly, the club is able to swing more naturally on plane. If the hands and arms separate from the rest of the body, or the body does too much turning, the club can get too outside or too inside.

At the point of the backswing where your clubhead is parallel to the ground, the clubhead should cover up your hands. If you where looking in a mirror, or someone is standing behind you, that's what it will look like. If you have the opportunity to check your backswing in a mirror or even on video, you can see the golf club go back on the right swing path instead of being too inside.
