Create Smooth Golf Swing Tempo For Best Results
Your golf swing tempo can be improved through practicing and knowing certain principles of the swing. Good tempo or good timing in your golf swing will really give you a much better chance of hitting better golf shots. Even if you swing the golf club slightly off plane or have a fault in your swing, the fault will be minimized just by maintaining a nice smooth tempo in your golf swing. Good timing will naturally promote swinging on plane correctly.
I like to help my students understand that Golf Swing Tempo Can Fix A Lot Of Golf Swing Problems. Just by slowing things down and smoothing them out, you'll be on your way to better golf shots. I don't want my students to slow things down so much to the point that they are steering their club. The best way to improve your tempo is to think of swinging more smoothly. This should naturally slow things down but still allow the swinging motion to occur, not a steering motion.
Your Golf Swing Speed is related to your tempo. Golfers want more speed so they can hit the ball farther. Besides gaining more distance, having good swing speed will also help to keep your club on a good path and plane throughout your swing.
It is very important to maintain consistent golf tempo in all your golf shots. Every shot from the full swing to putting should be a swing or stroke that is smooth and consistent. You can Increase Golf Swing Speed by getting proper tempo and getting in sync correctly.
Golf Swing Sequence
Golf Swing Sequence has to do with turning correctly in the swing. The sequence of how your body turns and how the arms and club swing will affect your golf shots.
Always make sure your shoulders, arms, and upper body start the swing while the lower body stays quiet and acts as a strong base which you coil around. After the first half of the backswing is completed, you can then turn everything together to the top of the backswing. This will ensure you are in the best position at the top of your swing to have a powerful downswing and hit of the golf ball.
Golf Swing BalanceAnother important factor that will contribute to good timing is having a Balanced Golf Swing. These two things really go hand in hand because a smooth golf swing will have both good balance and good timing. If your swing is rushed or too quick, you'll tend to also be off balance.
Good Golf Swing Tempo Is A Critical Part Of Having A Great Swing
Golfers may vary slightly in their golf swing speeds, or how fast they swing the golf club. However, regardless of whether your swing speed is faster or slower you can still maintain good tempo and balance overall.
A great drill to improve your golf swing tempo is to simply count during your swing. On your backswing you'll count 1-2 then say the word "pause" at the top of the swing, and say 3 during the downswing including the follow through.
Good golfers all have good Acceleration in the Golf Swing. This is a key ingredient to keep your club on a good swing path. You will also be able to hit the ball much farther by having proper golf swing acceleration. Good swing tempo and good acceleration in the golf swing tend to go together.
When tour players' swings are timed, there is a common element in their golf swing tempo. Their backswings are 3 times as long as their downswing. So the drill where you count in your swing actually is making your backswing three times the speed of your downswing, providing that you count at a consistent pace without rushing or doing anything to manipulate the flow that should occur.
