Golf Swing Techniques: One Plane versus Two Plane Swing Paths

All Pros Have Slightly Different Styles In Their Golf Swing Techniques

Some tour players have a more upright or two plane swing and others have a little flatter planed swing. If you have a flatter swing plane, generally you'll tend to hit the ball straighter. A more upright or two plane swing will promote extra distance but when you miss hit shots, they will tend to miss farther in either direction than with a more flatter, one plane swing.

In my opinion, I think the best golf swing technique is to be right in the middle. Not too steep or too laid off with the golf club at the top of the backswing. As long as you feel that you are swinging the golf club over your right shoulder, you will be on plane and will hit solid golf shots.

Golf swing useful tips such as swinging over your right shoulder on the backswing and swinging over your left shoulder on the downswing/follow through will help you hit better golf shots. When you keep it simple, you won't necessary have to worry too much about your technique or what plane swing you have. My golf swing instruction promotes keeping things as simple as possible so you can focus on playing target golf and getting the ball in the hole as soon as possible. Worrying too much about mechanics and technique in your swing can sometimes hinder your performance out on the golf course. Make sure to keep everything in balance.

If you want to tinker with your swing technique and mechanics on the driving range that's fine. But once you go out on the golf course, you need to be thinking about your target and visualizing your shots instead of thinking about your swing technique. This will allow you shoot your best scores and get out of your own way.
