If You Are Experiencing A Golf Swing Pull Here Are Some Tips For Straighter Golf Shots

A golf swing pull and a golf swing slice will usually stem from the same golf swing path error. It's usually an over the top golf swing path that will lead to pulled golf shots. Even if your clubface is square, you'll still end up hitting a pull if your swing path is out to in. When the club moves left too quickly after impact, the flight of the golf ball goes left resulting in your golf swing pull.

Tips To Eliminate Your Pulled Golf Shots

Get everything to come together at impact properly. Your shoulders must be square at impact or parallel to your target line just as they were in the setup position. Opening up the upper body or your shoulder too early will cause your golf club to drag left too early after impact thus causing your golf ball flight to go to the left.

Swing down more from the inside on your downswing.

Do the opposite. If you are pulling the golf ball, it can be helpful to work on the opposite golf swing path. A steep golf swing can sometimes cause pulled golf shots. Trying to flatten out your golf swing path can help to straighten out your pulls and get you hitting it straighter. If you feel your swing is too much over the top, try to work on swinging more in to out and get comfortable trusting this new swing path.

An early release with your wrists on the downswing can also result in pulled shots. The club head is forced to close too quickly when approaching the golf ball at impact. This makes the ball go to the left. Make sure to hold your wrist angle as the way up until you are hitting the golf ball so that your hands can lead slightly coming into hit the ball. From there, feel yourself swing the golf club straight towards your target after impact and you'll start hitting much straighter and more consistent golf shots.
