Golf Swing Dynamics For Transitioning From The Golf Backswing To The Downswing

Learning the correct golf swing dynamics and how to transition correctly from your golf backswing to your downswing will help you achieve solid contact in your golf shots more consistently.

So What Starts The Downswing?

Some pros tell you its the hips that start the downswing. Other pros will tell you its the arms that you have to start to bring down first.

The real key to a good transition is to have everything start the downswing together. The hips and the arms move together at the same time and in the same direction. The key is to get everything coming into the ball together at impact. The problem many golfers get into is trying to turn their hips from the top of the backswing before turning their arms. This will get your arms stuck behind you and everything will not come together properly at impact.

The arms have to swing down a little bit faster so they catch up with the rest of the body coming into the hit of the golf ball. But it is important to keep your body and arms moving together. You do not want the arms to stop so the hips can turn or vice versa. You also would not want the hips to stop turning so the arms can swing down. You must learn to do this together and that is how your golf swing technique and dynamics will be in sync.
