Learn A Complete Solution To End Your Golf Slice Forever

If you are struggling with a golf slice have no fear. You will find tips and explanation on what causes your golf slice and reasonable solutions for how to end it completely without spending years trying. There are a lot of golfers who take golf lessons. Many of these golfers keep going back for more lessons because many instructors lack the ability to give their students enough of the right knowledge to take control of their golf game themselves.

Keys To Help You Stop Slicing Now

There are a variety of reasons you may be slicing and there are also different degrees of having a slice. To Stop Slicing, you must be aware of your grip, your alignment, and several important swing fundamentals. Some pros will try and give you a bandaid or simple swing path fix that doesn't work for the long term.

I recommend checking these things in the right order starting with your grip. A weak grip can produce a golf slice. If a golfer holds their club too much in the palms, a golfer cannot generate sufficient clubhead speed. The wrists also cannot set correctly which is an important part of creating lag and power.

We want to hold the golf club in our fingers with a correct amount of grip pressure. Too much tension can also cause a golfer to restrict their natural swinging motion and create other swing faults thus resulting in a slice or other possible errors.

Golf Alignment Problems Contribute To Golfers' Slicing

Alignment is a huge cause of slicing. Poor golf alignment can in itself cause a slice and it can also dramatize it and make a moderate slice much more severe. Golfers can have a hard time aligning themselves on the golf course because every shot is different so they constantly have to readjust their bodies. It can be easier to align yourself when hitting balls on the driving range because you can hit the same shot to the same target over and over and get feedback to readjust yourself if necessary.

If you take some time to lay a club or alignment stick down on the driving range in your practice sessions, your good alignment will automatically tend to carry over to the golf course when you play. The body and mind naturally start to remember how to align when you setup to hit your shots. It will also help if you stand behind the ball and see your target line. From here, you can pick an intermediate target on the ground a few feet ahead of you. Then when you walk in to setup to your shot, you simply align your clubface with that intermediate target. This could be a discolored patch of grass, a leaf, or anything similar that you can focus on when you are aligning your clubface. Then, it's a matter of getting your feet and body square and parallel to your target line. This process will set you up for making good golf swings and definitely combat any golf slice you may be experiencing.

Why Alignment Is A Problem For Many Slicers

Golfers who have a left to right or slice shot pattern will intuitively start shifting their feet and body to the left. This open alignment won't make the ball go more left, it will actually create more of an in to out swing path which will cause an even bigger slice.

To Fix Your Slice....

To fix your golf slice, you must take control of your golf swing path. Some golfers can get confused on this concept so I am going to try and simplify it. Let's start with understanding impact. We want the club head to remain square as long as possible in the impact zone. Because the golf club swings around our body to a degree, the club comes from slightly inside to square back to inside slightly again as you then turn and follow through to a full finish.

To promote this concept, try to feel like you swing your clubhead towards your target just after impact. This will help your swing path without having to think about it. It will also improve your golf swing extension and swing arc so you'll add extra power and distance as well.

Having your shoulders square at impact also helps this process of swinging your club towards your target. You can work on either one, and the other one will tend to get better. I like thinking of swinging the clubhead towards the target and allowing my shoulders to square up more as a result of this. It's a more feel oriented thought and there is less room for doubts and the left brain to come in and make your swing feel off. Anytime you can focus on what the club is doing in a dynamic way you are benefitting yourself as opposed to worrying or thinking about what a certain part of your body is doing while you are swinging.

There are exceptions to this and it's okay to think about more technical thoughts on the driving range if you are working on improving your swing. On the course, the best way to play is more by feeling a good swing, having clear and helpful swing thoughts, and focusing on your targets and where you want the ball to go. This helps your subconscious and your body to aid in getting your club on a good swing path and you'll be hitting better golf shots as a result.
