Proper Golf Shoulder Turn Benefits
Having a good golf shoulder turn will really help you play much better golf. A correct shoulder turn is an important part of your backswing. Having a good golf backswing will lead to and promote a good downswing thus allowing you to hit the golf ball solidly. Many amatuer golfers fail to make a full shoulder turn in the backswing. This may be because of physical limitations which good golf stretches can help to combat. Or it may be because they are trying to steer or lift the club incorrectly instead of allowing the club to swing and letting the body respond properly by fully turning.
If you are not making a good shoulder turn in your swing, you may be experiencing problems with your downswing and hitting bad golf shots. If the shoulders do not complete their full turn, the upper body will be forced to start the downswing too early, opening up too early at impact. In order to hit solid and consistent golf shots, the shoulders must stay square at impact. The only way they can do this is by turning fully in the backswing. Not completing the turn in the backswing leads to turning too soon and being too open in the downswing, thus producing weak golf shots often resulting in the common problem of slicing.
Simply allow your shoulders to turn 90 degrees in the backswing. This will allow your upper body to wind up and coil against your lower body. You will have built up power and can then fire through on your downswing and at impact, sending the golf ball long and straight towards your target.
