You need to be prepared before you strike your first tee shot if you want to get the best out of your game and not let golf get the best of you.
Having a strong golf mental attitude and golf mental focus comes from first developing a good game plan and then sticking with it once you're out on the course. One important point about mental attitude is to try to remain calm and give the same attention to each golf shot you hit. Often times after a bad shot, a golfer will get upset, lose focus, and hit their next shot poorly too simply because they let themselves get upset and lost focus. This is unnecessary and if you are serious about playing up to your potential, you'll need to learn how to accept a bad shot and get over it completely before you hit your next shot.

Focus on hitting the fairways, the greens, and getting the ball into the hole. It's okay to notice the hazards such as water or bunkers so you know where to avoid. Just make sure you're last thought before swinging is on where you want the ball to go.
