A Correct Golf Grip Is An Essential Part Of A Good Golf Swing Setup
A good golf grip is the first step to having proper golf swing technique. A good golf swing setup will help you swing the club on the correct swing path and eliminate many golf swing problems.

A bad or incorrect grip will cause you to make compensations in your golf swing in order to try and hit good shots. Three ways that are used when gripping the golf club are the overlap, the interlock, or the baseball grip. I generally recommend the overlap grip which is more popular, most of the players on tour hold the club this way. When you interlock, you open your hands and place the right pinky finger in between the left forefinger and left middle finger. Then place the club in your hands and wrap them around correctly. With the overlap grip, you'll simply place your pinky finger just outside the left hand, specifically between your index and middle finger but on the outside of them. Also, the baseball grip can be used but just make sure there is no space between the hands and they are together on the grip. Often junior golfers and some ladies are more comfortable with a baseball grip or the interlocking grip as it may feel like they have a little extra power and control holding the golf club this way.
