Golf Downswing Secret Tip For Getting Control Over Your Golf Swing

Some people think there is a golf downswing secret that can improve their swing and help them hit better, more consistent golf shots. The key to a good downswing is to let the arms swing down and catch up to the rest of the body before you actually hit the golf ball at impact.

The golf downswing should start by allowing your arms to swing down. You want to keep your lower body stable during the first part of the downswing. Your legs will act as a stable base while you swing the club down. The arms have to swing down a bit to get in synch with the rest of the body before impact. Make sure to maintain your wrist angle as long as possible before hitting the ball. You want to swing the arms down but keep your wrist angle. This will create a lag in your swing and add to your golf swing power.

A common mistake many golfers make with the downswing is opening up their shoulders and upper body too early before they've made contact with the golf ball. If your shoulders are open when you hit the golf ball you only have your hands and arms to use for power and this is a weak impact position. Try to feel your shoulders stay square to your target line as your hit the ball and then let the club swing towards your target and complete your follow through by turning your body towards the target after you've hit the golf ball.

Remember also that a good backswing will help lead to and promote a proper golf downswing. Working on all your golf swing fundamentals including your golf setup will help you improve your game.
